Is your data secure online?
Do you know that India ranks 18th in National Exposure Index?
i.e.India is 18th highly privacy exposed country.
You might have heard about Cambridge Atlantica,
who captured data of 2 million Facebook users.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg then apologize
for the same and accepted the fact.
Your privacy is highly exposed today;
for example, if you search for any person
on Facebook, it gives his name, photos and
personal information.(*This applies to your profile as well.)
Also, remember that once a photo is uploaded
on the internet, you cannot delete it.
So next time, before you upload photos, think about this?
If you search for mobile on Amazon in morning,
aren’t you surprised to see ads about mobile
while watching video on youtube?
You are being observed.
Your every like/click/surf on the internet is being recorded.
So the big data mine is now demanding data analysts, scientists and researchers.
It’s going to be the most important career opportunity in future.
The main challenge is to collect, store, process,
organize and utilise this data to extract
particular information for commercial services.
Today if you see your google maps timeline,
it can show you that last year on this day,
at this time you were at this place for this much time.
So do they really need this data? Not really. But we can’t run away from these services either.Since these services ease our lives, help us and try to automate our lives. You may say that this is need of the hour.
So what we can do about this?
Start thinking about this guys.
I will tell you about this in the next article.
Thanks.
Sanket.
